Last year, the Diners Club France Patisserie Week saw a staggering 230 stores from Hokkaido to Okinawa participating in the sweets festival, with over 60,000 people visiting the stores. This year, in its fourth year, the event is set to reach new heights with 301 stores participating, marking the highest number of participants ever. The summer patisserie tour will be held grandly all over the country, promising an exciting and vibrant experience for all.

This year's theme is "Savarin," which is a traditional French pastry named in honor of Brillat-Savarin, the author of "In Praise of the Taste" and a well-known French gourmet. The pastry is usually ring-shaped, and if it's not, it is called "Baba". It is soaked in syrup to give it a moist texture and is usually topped with fruits, whipped cream, nuts, etc. The standard syrup used is rum or Armagnac, but summer versions use gin, wine, Grand Marnier, etc. Each participating store will create its original "Savarin" specifically for this event and offer it for a limited time.

Diners Club France Patisserie Week Secretariat said, "This year, we are organizing a "Sweets Quotes & Stanning" event to celebrate the famous quote by gourmet critic Brillat-Savarin: "Tell me what you eat, and I will tell you who you are." We invite pastry chefs and the general public to take part. We also encourage using ingredients from Ishikawa Prefecture and the Hokuriku region to support the areas affected by the 2024 Noto Peninsula earthquake."
